How do paleontologists work?

The big bone hunt

Diving into the world of paleontology

In this project, the students take on the role of a paleontologist. They explore bones and consider what the animal might have looked like and in which habitat (water, air, land) it might have lived.

In addition to gaining insights into the structure of vertebrates and recognizing form-function relationships, the students learn about various aspects of scientific work (comparison with existing data, networking with other scientists, dealing with uncertainties, etc.) in a fun way.

The project can be implemented 1:1 in the classroom. You will also find suggestions in the video! (German)
